Temporary fitting the wiring loom.

Obviously, as we bolt parts on the the scooter, it will be necessary to add the wiring at certain stages. To do this, we need to put the loom roughly in place. Evenually, it will be secured using the correct harness straps which are aluminium. But for now, we can hold it in place with a few strips of insulating or masking tape.

As we have already fitted the rear light, the loom already passes through the access hole at the back of the scooter. It now travels forward along the right hand side of the frame, above the holes for the coil etc as seen here.

The loom now passes over to the left hand side of the scooter frame and will remain on this side all the way to the headset. It goes over the outriggers for the rear footboards close to the frame tube and NOT through the hole for the tank straps. When the tank is eventually fitted, the loom runs underneath it. Like so:

The loom goes under the bracket for the fuel tank and then up and over the tube for the engine bolt AND the lug for the air filter box. Then continues down toward the gap under where the toolbox will be fitted.

Run the loom along the frame hugging the struts as shown. The wire seen branching off is for the rear brake foot pedal switch.

Continue up the frame.

And up to the headset end just behind the bracket for the horncasting. A little further down the line, the loom will be fastened properly. This temporary fitting will do for now.
